A: i heard they might be launching it in 2011 i think. dont quote me on it. for me, i like it but its still a front wheel drive car. its like the ford edge, flex, escape. i have been in all three and i hate them. i never will like a front wheel drive vehicle. i prefer the current ford explorer. i have an 04 and i will never drive anything else. i will stick to a rear wheel drive truck!

A: I don’t know about a brand new one but I had a 96 Explorer and it had just shy of 200,000 miles on it when it was in a rollover, it still started up for a minute after the accident too. But Technology has come a long way so with proper maintenance who knows how long it could last. And being a person who makes parts for the Ford Explorer thanks for considering and/or buying one.

Q: My 1997 Ford explorer wont start, new starter, new solenoid, now the dash lights wont work. Any advice?
Also I am not getting any spark to the Plug wires. When I jump the solenoid the stater fires and the motor turns over but no spark. Is there anywhere else I should be looking to trace this poblem?
A: When jumping the solenoid, there wont be any fire to the plugs if the ignition switch is off. If it’s on, you may have a bad ignition switch>
Q: 91 ford explorer, just installed new heads and will not start loose connection to blame?
the starter engages, but the engine just keeps cranking. All the injectors are plugged in….except for another cord that has a fuel injector connection on it….I’m not sure where it connects too and I believe it is the root of my problem.
A: My 92 Explorer often has battery cable issues. Make sure they are all TIGHTLY plugged in.

Don’t put the subs in just any enclosure unless they’re already fitted.

Anybody in the auto industry that can answer this for me? i found a real good deal on a used suv by my house, but it needs a new engine probably.
A: go find a junk motor for about 1.500.00…pull it out of another explorer, that has LOW MILEAGE (about 40-50.000 miles)…..go to a junk dealer.

A: Yes, I’ve had the body style and the new one. The ‘03 is very good, I have no complaints about it.

Q: Does the tank have to be dropped to put on a new fuel pump on a 93 Ford Explorer?
My fuel pump went out on my truck and I know that on some vehicles you can pull the back seat up and change it with out dropping the gas tank. I was wondering if anyone may know if that is possible on the 93 ford explorer. I bought it awhile back and it didn’t come with a manual, so if anyone knows where I might find one online that would be really helpful to, thanks.
A: yes the gas tank does have to be dropped to install a pump on that one,as for the manuals their aren’t any free ones,that you can down load that are any good,there is a site you can buy them from,but really any parts store should have a good Haynes one in stock for that vehicle,i have a site that has manuals all kinds of owners manuals i,ll send you,it wont help with the fuel pump though,in the morning you can purchase one at any advance or auto zone for that vehicle,good luck,here’s the site for the owners manual,,http://www.autobooksbishko.com/
Q: I am looking at installing cold air intake and a new exhaust in my 2002 Ford Explorer… how much will it help?
I am getting ready to spend 695$ on a top grade cold air intake, and a pretty good exhaust system, but is it worth the money? My car is a 2002 Ford Explorer 4.0L V6. Thanks a ton!
A: Honestly your Top Dollar Cold Air Intake is not very different from the stock one. This works just as well: Get a MAF adapter, Put a high flow filter on, and there you go. Works just as good, or build one in the autozone parking lot. Take Note that ALL cold Air Intakes basically do the same thing and the stock air intake isn’t all that restrictive. Q: New Ford Explorer 2006-07?
I am looking for overall, honest opinion on this vehicle- performance, and maintenance wise. iIknow I can look up in ratings,and other sites, but Im looking to hear from the owners directly. Do you like it?
A: well if your looking for over all lowest operating cost of suv the ford line is the way to go. I personally like the new hybrid escape but thats me. We have tons of SUV’s in service with differrnt clients. Over all Ford products in general generate the fewest complaints. I wish i could say the same about the GM line. Dodge runs a close second but their repair costs are higher and do not crash as well so the dodge costs more to insure usually. 2006/2007 explorer is a good pick.
Q: How do I get my new engine to start on my Ford Explorer?
I replaced the engine from my 91 Explorer with one from a 92. The starter can turn the engine but the plugs dont spark and it wont start. The coil pack is ok, crank shaft position sensor is ok, battery is ok, I connected everything on the wiring harness, so why wont it start?
A: Its something ignition related. Make sure your distributor is installed and alligned propery. If its not on right, it will try to fire the wrong cylinder.
